JWT Cairo and Memac Ogilvy Label both won silver Lions last night at the first awards ceremony of this year’s festival.
The silvers were awarded in the promo & activation category, with JWT Dubai also picking up a bronze. There were no winners in the creative effectiveness, direct or PR categories.
JWT Cairo’s silver came courtesy of its ‘Fakka’ campaign for Vodafone, which picked up a grand prix at the Dubai Lynx in March. Memac Ogilvy Label’s was for ‘Mobilising the 12th man’ for Tunisian football team Club Sportif de Hammam-Lif (above). JWT Dubai won bronze for its ‘Bookends’ work for Kinokuniya.
The shortlists for cyber, design and radio are to be released later this morning, while the winners in the innovation, media, mobile and outdoor Lions will be announced this evening.
