Memac Ogilvy has created a social media campaign for IKEA, in the midst of a recent outburst of the aliens’ theme.
Over the latest months, social media space has gone crazy with some leaked images, documents and videos about UFO sightings. The origin of these unexplainable objects has been swooping major attention from The New York Times, CNN, NASA, Gulf News, etc. All in preparation for the upcoming reveal of classified documents about the topic, by the US government.
IKEA wanted to be part of the conversation and released a topical and twisted version of its well-known assembly instructions, tailored for Aliens. A way to welcome them in case of their existence and their upcoming move to our planet.
It is a fun campaign that generated the attention of the press, and of all the SCI-Fi community online, says Cristiano Tonnarelli, Group Creative Director MENA, Memac Ogilvy.
