Dubai Lynx reveals Student Hackathon winners

Dubai Lynx has revealed the winners of its Creative Student Hackathon. The winning team was the blue team, whose five members were Micah Aguilar, Muskaan Bhatia, Haroune Boudjadi, Vriddhi Kumthekar, and Ryanah Alsaif, the scholarship winner of Campaign Middle East’s faces to watch 2021.

The 24-hour Hackathon was held over two days, from Oct 26 to Oct 27, at the Dubai Knowledge Park Conference Center. Conducted in partnership with Dubai Media City, Dubai International Academic City, and Dubai Knowledge Park, the competition was aimed at students aged 18-25.

The competition was judged by a Jury of industry experts which included, Till Hohmann, regional CCO MENA at Memac Ogilvy; Maian Alken, associate creative director at TBWA/RAAD; Khaled Hatrash, operations manager of Dubai Studio City, and Diana Wilde, co-founder of Aurora50.

Set by Aurora50, the brief was to create a marketing plan for its curated discussions called Table Talks, aimed at building inclusive leaders and teams by exploring diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues. Students participated from universities including, Murdoch University Dubai, Manipal University Dubai, University of Wollongong Dubai, Heriot-Watt University Dubai and Middlesex University Dubai, to present their solutions and strategies over the two days.

The Dubai Lynx has also announced two more student competitions, including a student-integrated competition where students need to submit a campaign using three forms of media in response to the brief set by the UAE UNstereotype alliance. And a Student Cover Competition, in partnership with Campaign ME, to create the front cover for the issue of the Saudi Supplement 2023. The deadline for the competitions is 15 December 2022.

Dubai Lynx is MENA’s premier festival of creativity, bringing MENA’s creative marketing community together to learn, network and celebrate the power of creativity. The Dubai Lynx festival and awards will be taking place from 14-15th March.
