Campaign’s Creative Faces to Watch 2021 – Romy Khalife, Account Manager, VMLY&R COMMERCE
Nominated by Gregory Mardikian, Business Director, VMLY&R COMMERCE
Romy has been navigating the challenges of dark marketing communication since her first day in advertising. While most people join the industry for the flash and the fame, she is committed to real work that drives results. Since she’s been with us at Geometry she has helped our clients who operate in restricted categories, to find meaningful methods of engagement.
I don’t have enough years under my belt to rightfully claim an achievement that isn’t related to the people I’ve come across in this field and everything they’ve taught me.
From my days in Beirut, where my biggest achievement was the application of the Human Kind philosophy, to moving to Dubai and achieving an unparalleled understanding of what it means for shoppers to buy well.
On a more human level, my family comes first, my younger sister feels like my twin, I’ve built myself a stellar wardrobe (that I look at on Pinterest and never own) and I’m a dog mom.
In an industry that sometimes pushes you to think beyond the expected, we have lost the art of the basics.
So I believe in the power of giving people what they want, first, and telling them what they need, second.
How has Covid changed your job?
While we used to actively work on bringing people and brands closer together, we’ve now started to explore how to distance them; because our sad reality claims that to be normal.
Is continuously wondering why I don’t have a side hustle, a side hustle in itself?
