Campaign’s Creative Faces to Watch 2021 – Noura Atoui, Senior Digital Designer, Cheil MEA

When we were looking for a new talent to join the team, I met a few great ones through in-person interviews and Zoom-called a few more. Noura was the only person I had a phone call with, without a face to face meeting, and decided on the spot. When she joined, we only got to meet her for a couple of days before we were all working from home. She had to prove herself and get to know her teammates remotely, which she managed to do well. Beyond her conceptual and visual skills, her confidence is inspiring.


I started my advertising journey at Leo Burnett Beirut in 2017. Even though I was based in my hometown and working for clients with a local flavour, I was also working on various projects for different corners of the world as an Art Director. After that, I decided to pack a suitcase, move to Dubai and start working at Cheil MEA. But there’s a twist to that, I moved countries and agencies in the midst of a pandemic. Along with my career, I have won 3 pitches at Leo Burnett, and 3 pitches at Cheil MEA so far. I guess 3 is my lucky starting number…

Guiding principles

The things that push me forward in my career is to always challenge myself to create ideas that stand out from the clutter while embracing team spirit with positivity and drive.

How has Covid changed your job?

Starting a new job is always challenging but starting in the midst of a global pandemic was even more perplexing. I started my career at Cheil MEA in March 2020 where I had to establish myself when video calls and mute buttons were trending. Having to work remotely was indeed very difficult, but it was an entirely new experience that I was not afraid to tackle.

Side hustle

In 2018, my family and I joined forces and turned our dream into reality by opening a boutique hotel in Sri Lanka called LightHouse Ahangama.

By putting our different skills together from construction, to management, business planning and marketing/advertising we managed to create our family reunion spot.
