Clinto Jagan, Creative designer, Essentially Precise

Age: 29

Vivek Kukreti, division head, social media, Essentially Precise: Clinto is nothing short of a battery that does not run out of juice. We work on numerous projects together and are constantly on tight deadlines, especially with clients like Al Foah and three of their brands. However, all Clinto needs is a clear brief, a computer, his music, a karak chai… and voila!

Career highlights

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with great teams. I started off as a 2D animator for Morph Digital Solutions in Bangalore, which was a pivotal moment in developing my career and skills. Today, at Precise Communications, it gives me great pleasure to be associated with global brands like DeLonghi, Kenwood, Date Crown and many more.

I breathe and live creative design and I’ve had an exciting journey where I showcased my skills: Line Art for Portal 48 in Spain; celebratory tribute painting for UAE National day in 2016; I’ve won an animation award for a short film, Toah’s Ark. I’ve had my article about animation published with Kyoorius in 2015, created a cover for a fiction book called Shadows Lie in 2017, and received multiple recognitions, one of which was for research on how art and colours can heal illnesses of the mind with Gulf News.

Guiding principles

I live by many guiding principles, of which here are some I hold close: Work with your heart and give it 100 per cent; try everything;  no is not an option; don’t stop learning; and be positive.

Dream job

I’d like to own my own studio one day that combines my passion in art, culture, music and food; I can live with painting every day.

Side hustle

For passion more than profit, I do a lot of wall art, digital and live painting. From a young age, I was an artist and I feel it imperative to honour that and never it let go, which is why in my free time (outside of work) whenever possible this is all I do.
