Campaign Middle East is pleased to announce the appointment of Anup Oommen as its new editor. Anup has taken over the mantle from Justin Harper, and will now serve the brand’s digital, print, events, directories, podcast and video verticals.
He is an award-winning journalist, moderator, and storyteller who brings to the role more than 15 years of experience across broadcast, print, digital, and new media.
Anup has previously worked with global and regional brands such as Reuters, CNN-IBN, Arabian Business, and TRENDS Mena, reporting on business, banking, construction, education, energy, healthcare, hospitality, media and marketing, retail, and real estate.
“As a lifelong student of crafting stories, creative effectiveness, meaningful messaging, brand building, as well as influence and persuasion, I’m in equal parts excited and honoured to take on this role as the editor of Campaign Middle East. I look forward to immersive and insightful conversations with marketing, advertising, media, digital, creative, and PR leaders within the Middle East,” he said.
Prior to his recent appointment, Anup led executive branding agency Prestidge Group as its Director of Operations and Communications, where he led the agency’s content, account management, design, and videography teams with a “people-first” approach to sustainable growth.
Ian Fairservice, Managing Partner & Group Editor-in-Chief of Motivate Media Group, said: “We are excited to welcome Anup Oommen to our team. His experience, enthusiasm, empathetic approach to team building, and his appetite for growth promises to enhance Campaign Middle East’s offerings in the region.”
