9Yards Cinema Production, a subsidiary of Abu-Dhabi based 9Yards Communications, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mega Matrix Inc. to establish an investment fund focused on the development of global short drama and pan-entertainment sector.
Mega Matrix Inc. runs FlexTV, a short-video platform and drama producer, via its subsidiary Yuder Pte. Ltd.
The MoU establishes a $100mn joint venture to fund acquisitions, seize global opportunities, and expand the pan-entertainment sector, including short drama production and distribution worldwide.
“The signing of this MOU with 9Yards Cinema Productions is a significant milestone in our mission to expand globally and tap into the immense potential and talent in new global markets,” said Yucheng Hu, CEO of Mega Matrix Inc.
Hu further explained that the partnership aims to fuel the growth of the short drama and pan-entertainment sector and to create ‘impactful content that resonates with audiences worldwide’.
The joint venture will create a wholly owned company to manage the fund, oversee investments, and ensure the partnership’s success.
