UM MENA has won the media planning and buying account for Rani Refreshments and Barbican.
The Dubai-headquartered agency will be responsible for traditional, out-of-home and digital media across the GCC, Levant and North African markets, with the contract effective as of January. The brands are part of Aujan Group Holding. The incumbent on the business was Mindshare.
The agency confirmed the appointment but was unable to comment.
Rani Refreshments is the trademark owner of premier beverages brands such as Rani and Barbican. Its core markets include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen and Egypt.
The win for UM follows the announcement that it has partnered with EVRYTHNG through its innovation and technology division UM Labs. The partnership with the award-winning ‘Internet of Things’ software company will focus on offering clients dynamic media extensions to drive customer engagement and action. It will utilise technologies such as near field communication (NFC) and radio-frequency identification (RFID). EVRYTHNG has offices in London, Zürich and New York.
