UAE agencies lead the region at the Clio Awards

Horizon FCB and Impact BBDO lead the region at the 2023 Clio Awards, with both agencies taking home a gold each. Clio Awards announced its winners with the region picking up 18 Clio statues with all going to the UAE. While Wunderman Thompson Riyadh’s Subconscious Order received a shortlist for Saudi Arabia.

Other entries from the region that were shortlisted include:

Horizon FCB picked up a Gold, and three Bronzes for “Breakchains with Blockchains,” a campaign that also won at Dubai Lynx. Meanwhile, Impact BBDO picked up a Gold, a Silver and two Bronzes spread across two campaigns: their latest AnNahar work “Newspapers Inside the Newspaper Edition,” a Grand Prix winner earlier this year at Dubai Lynx 2023, and “Schoolgirl Newscasters” for EBM.

Publicis Middle East follows with two Silvers and three Bronzes for their Jeep poster campaign. Other winners include FP7’s HeinzJack, Havas Middle East’s Superstar Ravi, and Wunderman Thompson’s Unstainable Thobe.

Another regional campaign that bagged a Clio is Nike Middle East’s campaign, Sport is Never Done for Film Craft, Sound Design. The agency behind the sound was the London based, GCRS.

Clio Awards is one of the premier international awards competitions for the creative industry. Founded in 1959 to celebrate creative excellence in advertising, Clio aims to honour the work and talent at the forefront of the industry in a variety of specialised fields.

The 63rd annual Clio Awards will be held on April 25 at Gotham Hall, New York City, hosted by Anthony Andersen. Grand Clio winners for the year will also be announced that evening – both Impact BBDO and FCB Horizon are in contention for the Grand award with their Gold Clio winners.
