Independent agency StrawberryFrog is in the process of establishing a presence in Dubai after securing the advertising briefs for Emirates Airline and Emaar’s Downtown Dubai.
Scott Goodson, the agency’s founder and CEO, said Vanessa Dolan, formerly senior account director at StrawberryFrog Amsterdam, would lead the new team. Dolan will be supported by a number of other ‘StrawberryFrogs’ and will report to Hans Howarth, partner and CEO at StrawberryFrog Amsterdam. The agency markets itself as the world’s first ‘Cultural Movement’ agency.
The agency added that it would not be opening a full-service office, but rather a “small customised team” would be on the ground in Dubai led by Dolan.
“Vanessa has been helping clients spark movements, she understands the movement model,” said Goodson. “She has built her team around her. Vanessa is based in Dubai. But remember that the systems of the past are not the systems of the future and we will not necessarily build a traditional corporate agency office in Dubai. There are better, smarter, more efficient ways to manage global brands in today’s fast changing world.”
Earlier this month the agency won the global creative account for Emaar Properties’ Downtown Dubai following a competitive pitch against Saatchi & Saatchi and Y&R. The appointment came less than two months after the Amsterdam office of StrawberryFrog won the global Emirates account. StrawberryFrog was established in 1999. Its clients include Heineken and PepsiCo.
