SMC Media, Aleph Group sign term sheet for joint venture

Saudi Arabia's media group SMC Media announces plans to acquire a stake in Aleph Group as part of its global expansion strategy.

SMC Group’s media and advertising arm SMC Media has announced its plans to acquire a stake in Aleph Group Inc. as part of its global expansion strategy.

The deal aims to drive digital transformation across the region via access to Aleph’s digital advertising assets across the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT) region.

The agreement also outlines the framework for a minority acquisition by SMC Media in Aleph’s global operations, reinforcing both companies shared commitment to advancing digital transformation and innovation.

“This partnership with Aleph Group reflects SMC Group’s role as a national champion driving Saudi Arabia’s media and advertising sector into a new era of digital transformation to advance our expertise in media across the globe amid rapid sector growth,” said Mohamed Al-Khereiji, Chairman of SMC Group.

The potential new joint venture will integrate Aleph’s global infrastructure, digital advertising expertise and partnerships with SMC Media regional scale and media leadership, further strengthening Aleph’s presence in the Middle East.

The companies aim to create a comprehensive digital ecosystem that delivers the full portfolio of both organisations’ products and services across MENAT.

This partnership also aims to unlock new revenue opportunities across the region while maintaining existing partnerships and strengthening the local digital economy.

Through its minority investment in Aleph Group, SMC Media will gain access to Aleph’s extensive global network – spanning over 50 international platform partners and operating in more than 130 markets worldwide and its fintech operations.

This partnership also supports the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, emphasising digital transformation, innovation, and private-sector collaboration as key drivers of economic diversification and sustainable growth.

The transaction is subject to due diligence, definitive documents, board and shareholders approvals at both global and regional levels of both organisations and customary regulatory processes.
