PUMA Middle East and Saudi Arabian football club AL-HILAL have launched a Founding Day kit to mark Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day on 22 February.

Saudi Founding Day commemorates the establishment of the first Saudi state in 1727 and celebrates history, unity and cultural identity.

The special edition kit pays tribute to the Kingdom’s rich history, culture and enduring sense of pride. Through the concept ‘Designed for Pride’, the kit celebrates Saudi Arabia’s heritage that has been shaped and built over generations.

Blending the concept with PUMA’s performance innovation the kit brings to life connection and purpose, representing the symbols and foundations that shaped Saudi Arabia’s beginnings, making AL-HILAL and PUMA proud ambassadors of Saudi heritage on a global stage.

“This Founding Day kit is more than just a jersey, it is a statement of identity, heritage and progress. Our partnership with AL-HILAL allows us to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s past while showcasing the energy and ambition shaping its future,” said Johan Kuhlo, Managing Director of PUMA Middle East.

Proud design inspired by Saudi heritage

For PUMA, the special edition Founding Day kit brings the nation’s story to life through design and performance innovation that connects sport, culture and community.

The kit draws inspiration from key symbols of Saudi culture and history, which serve as frameworks of PUMA’s foundation. Interpreted through AL-HILAL’s iconic blue colour palette and PUMA’s performance expertise, the kit tells a story of a nation and a club rooted in heritage while looking confidently to the future.

  • The palm tree: symbolising prosperity, generosity and resilience, and standing as a national emblem of growth and life in the desert.
  • The marketplace: representing trade, community and cultural exchange, reflecting the vibrant economic and social life of early Saudi society.

Designed for pride and as a tribute to the Kingdom’s origins, the kit invites fans to wear their heritage and honour the Founding Day spirit. Available for a limited time only and is a true unique collector’s item.

“AL-HILAL represents the pride, ambition and foundations of Saudi Arabia,” said Vanessa Basora, Chief Marketing and Content Officer of AL-HILAL.

“This special edition kit reflects who we are as a club and as a nation, rooted in history, united in purpose and driven by the future,” she added. “We are proud to share this moment with our partner PUMA and our fans, inviting them to wear this kit as a symbol of heritage, unity and delivering excellence in everything we do.”

As the most successful football club in Saudi Arabia and Asia, with more 90 trophies, AL-HILAL stands as a symbol of ambition and excellence in everything it does, while remaining deeply proud of its roots and heritage. The Founding Day kit also embodies the club’s positioning, ‘Proud To Be’, celebrating Saudi identity and both the Kingdom and the club’s journey of progress and transformation in line with Vision 2030, and with pride continuously being built and designed.
