Khaled AlShehhi, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, UAE Government Media OfficeThe past days were quiet.
Not because nothing was happening,
but because people showed who they really are.
When the region felt tense, something else became visible.
Not sirens.
Not statements.
People.
Residents. Citizens. Parents. Workers.
Different passports, the same feeling.
“I feel safe.”
“I trust this place.”
“This is home.”
Belonging sounds simple when life is easy.
It becomes powerful when it is tested.
While families slept, the sky was watched over.
By morning, life continued, calm and steady.
We have seen this kind of care before, in difficult seasons.
And once again, it held.
That kind of normal does not happen by chance.
It comes from discipline.
From trust.
From years of consistency.
And what moved me most was this:
No one asked people to speak.
Yet so many did.
They didn’t just stay here.
They stood for it.
To everyone who spoke up, we felt it.
Never underestimate a nation where residents step forward to reassure each other.
That is not convenience.
That is commitment.
And in moments like these, you realise something deeper:
A nation is protected not only by its systems,
but by the people who believe in it.
And these past days, that belief was everywhere.
I’m proud of the UAE, and proud of the people who call it home.
