As if the Fury and Usyk’s bout of the century wasn’t already going down in history, H.E. Turki Alalshik wanted to make sure it stayed immortalised in the most inimitable fashion.
Commissioned to undertake this unique brief were BigTime Creative and luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co.
The two collaborated closely to design and craft this artistic timepiece, named after the title of the fight itself,
‘Ring of Fire.’
For the Saudi-based creative agency, it allowed them to flex their design prowess and go outside the realm of traditional communication latitudes.
Mohammed Sehly, CEO of BigTime Creative, said: “For us, ideas always come first. This is reflected in the stunning watch designed by Jacob & Co, guided by the BigTime Creative Shop team to ensure our concepts are effectively conveyed across all mediums.”
The unique watch is no featherweight by any stretch with a hefty 50mm rose gold casing. The 10mm figurines of the fighters are crafted with incredible detail and housed inside a sapphire crystal arena.
Along with autographed red and blue boxing gloves, the double-axis flying tourbillon (located opposite a WBC belt-coloured dial) helps to rotate the entire artistic scene.
Rayyan Aoun, CCO of BigTime, added: “This timepiece is truly a timeless work of art. Working with Jacob & Co to bring it to life has been both an honour and an exhilarating experience. Such opportunities are exceedingly rare, if they occur at all.”
The big question is how do you acquire one of these watches to join your collection? That’s easier said than done.
You may have more luck scoring tickets to the fight itself on Saturday May 18th, as Jacob & Co are only crafting three pieces.
One for Fury and the other for Usyk. The third will be auctioned off by Sotheby’s to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation – a global children’s charity that grants wishes to children living with critical illness.
