The UK’s ITN is to open an ITV News bureau in Dubai, reports The Guardian.
Led by international correspondent John Irvine, the new bureau will cover news across the Gulf, Africa and the Indian subcontinent. As a result of the move, the network’s South African bureau will be closed, although ITV News will retain a production presence in Johannesburg.
The Guardian article stated that the Dubai bureau will be ITV News’ first new overseas operation overseas since the opening of its China bureau in 2006.
