As Director of Retail, Product and Marketing at Damas Jewellery, he has spent years creating experiences that fuse artistry with innovation, showing that true luxury is about more than products, but also about the thought, detail and story behind every piece. His approach to leadership is rooted in curiosity and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
Reflects on his early days in retail, Damodaran says, “Every client interaction was a lesson. I learned to listen, to anticipate and to see beyond the surface. Luxury isn’t about price tags or excess, it’s about meaning and connection followed by the stories every detail tells.”
This philosophy recently came to life in one of Damas’ most ambitious collaborations yet: the limited-edition INFINITI QX80 created to mark the UAE’s 54th National Day.
Only seven of these vehicles exist, each featuring a bespoke dashboard jewellery piece inspired by the constellations that lit the UAE’s skies on the night of its founding.
“For us, this was about more than design it was about capturing the UAE’s spirit in a way that celebrates craftsmanship and imagination,” Damodaran adds.
INFINITI QX80
Sitting behind the wheel, Damodaran describes the QX80 as “a perfectly cut diamond in car form. Every angle is intentional, every detail considered. It doesn’t shout, it earns attention through poise, precision, and presence. That’s exactly how we approach luxury at Damas.”
The collaboration brought together two worlds: automotive and jewellery through design that is meticulous and meaningful. From the 9-karat white gold bezel to the 38 hand-set lab-grown diamonds, every element was designed to reflect clarity, endurance, and the UAE’s ambition.
“It’s a chance to do something that’s never been done before,” Damodaran adds, “and to create something that really tells a story.”
For Damodaran, leadership is no different from his approach to luxury: thoughtful, disciplined, and human-centred.
“Being a visionary isn’t about predicting trends,” he says. “It’s about reading the present clearly enough to anticipate what the future will demand. And then designing experiences that last.”
He believes true innovation respects heritage while stretching boundaries, a principle that has guided Damas for decades.
