Doha-based pay-TV broadcaster beIN has signed a six-channel deal with Discovery Communications.
The addition of the six channels, five of which are exclusive to beIN in the region, strengthens beIN’s portfolio and follows an earlier announcement of the launch of beIN Movies 3.
Discovery Kids HD, Dlife HD, DMAX HD, DTX HD and a new HD version of Fatafeat will now be available exclusively on beIN, with Animal Planet HD also joining the line-up.
The deal follows the adding of five Turner channels to beIN’s line-up as it seeks to consolidate its position as a comprehensive pay-TV entertainment player.
Yousef Al-Obaidly, deputy chief executive officer of beIN Media Group, said: “The past few weeks have been packed with a lot of strategic announcements aimed at cementing our position as drivers of premium entertainment content in the region.
“From the launch of our entertainment portfolio to our collaboration with Turner, we have confidently announced our entry within this space and are gearing up for more niche unveilings that will position us at the top of our game.”
