Campaign Middle East rounds up the latest AI platform updates from July 2026.
OpenAI
OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Work – an agent in ChatGPT that helps users take on more ambitious tasks. It can gather information across users apps and workflows to create finished materials like sheets, slides, docs, and web apps, and stay with complex projects for hours by breaking them into smaller steps and completing them independently.
With Codex technology built-in, ChatGPT can now move beyond answering questions to getting real work done across web, mobile, and desktop. More than 5 million people use Codex every week.
Perplexity
Perplexity AI has launched a new AI powered web browser called Comet. In the last 30 years, the internet has evolved from something we simply “browse” or “search.” The internet is where we live, work, and connect.
The new browser combines search, browsing and AI assistance in a single experience. Built on Chromium, Comet features an integrated AI assistant that can answer questions about webpages, summarise content, compare information and complete multi-step tasks without users switching between tabs or applications.
It is currently only available to Perplexity Max subscribers.
Canva
Canva has rolled out Canva Code 2.0 to all users, expanding its AI-powered coding tool beyond its initial limited release. The update allows users to create websites, apps and interactive experiences from natural language prompts, before editing them visually within Canva.
The latest version introduces visual editing controls, enabling users to modify individual elements such as text, colours, layouts and images without regenerating an entire design. It also supports HTML imports, allowing projects created in other AI coding tools to be brought into Canva and edited natively.
Canva Code 2.0 is available across Free, Pro, Teams, Enterprise and Education accounts. The company also claims the update generates code up to 75 per cent faster than before and has already been used to create more than six million coded experiences.
Additionally, the platform has expanded its Google integration, building on the Canva Connected App announced at Google I/O in May. The update brings Canva into Google Gemini and Google Search AI Mode, allowing users to create, edit, resize and translate designs without leaving the AI conversation. It also enables users to turn AI-generated images into editable Canva designs using Magic Layers.
Pinterest:
The platform has introduced, Pinterest Model Context Protocol (MCP), is an AI-native infrastructure layer that connects Pinterest campaign, analytics and keyword insights with third-party AI copilots and agentic tools. The feature is available to select partners globally.
Pinterest has also introduced a new Performance+ creative AI model. According to the platform, the model evaluates multiple creative variants and selects one for each ad impression. The feature is available globally.
Snapchat:
Snapchat has introduced a new suite of AI-powered capabilities across their ads stack. From campaign setup and creative development to shopping, creator partnerships, and conversational experiences, the platform is using AI to simplify workflows, unlock new experiences, and improve performance.
