There is no question that Aaron Starkman, Global Chief Creative Officer of Rethink, is having a big year.

While his agency has been on a streak for a while now, gaining momentum and recognition around the world, it would be difficult not to call Rethink one of the hottest agencies in the world in 2024, winning independent network and agency of the year at Cannes, The One Show, The Andy’s & the Clios.

Now, Starkman has signed on to chair the second annual Big Global Awards, celebrating the best of the best advertising from across the globe.

The Big Global Awards successfully launched last year as a celebration of the best creativity from around the world that is too big for one market. It is a chance for ‘local’ agencies with big ideas and groundbreaking work to gain international acclaim, and the potential for global exposure is massive—there are almost 1.2 million unique monthly users for Campaign’s UK, US, and Asia editions combined.

The early bird entry deadline is now just one week away, so click here to get started.

“Campaign is one of the most respected creativity publications in the world,” said Starkman. “The work that is recognised here signals to the industry what the standard for greatness is.”

Along with an overflowing trophy cabinet, Starkman has gained a reputation for the kind of attention grabbing viral work that charms consumers, makes clients smile, and breaks through into mainstream media, with CNN, Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen DeGeneres all talking about his work in the past.

As one of the top creatives in the world, Starkman has also been in demand as a judge, sitting on juries for Cannes, D&AD, the Clios, the One Show and, most recently, he served on the Effies inaugural Global ‘best of the best awards’ grand jury.

“When it comes to a lens used to judge any work from my agency or in an award show I look through the lens of C.R.A.F.T.S,” said Starkman. “Clear, Relevant, Achievable, Fresh, True, Shareable.”

Starkman will be joined by a jury of other top creatives from around the world, including Roman Carlo Olivarez, ECD from MullenLowe TRENA in the Philippines; Andre Sallowicz, creative partner with AMV BBDO in London, and Gustavo Figueiredo, group creative director for TBWA Singapore, along with some additional Canadian creative experts in Erin Kawlecki, from Angry Butterfly, Christina Yu from Lifelong Crush and Jordan Hamer from One Twenty Three West.
