Motivate Media Group appoints Thomas Woodgate as Group Content Director

With wide-ranging experience across media, corporate and content sectors in the UK and Australia, Woodgate joins Motivate Media Group to help shape the company’s evolving content vision across the region.

MENA-based Motivate Media Group – which operates a diverse portfolio of media interests comprising magazines, digital, social, video, exhibitions and events, cinema and books – has appointed Thomas Woodgate as its Group Content Director, bolstering its senior leadership team with an eye on long-term media and editorial growth and development.

Woodgate brings to the role wide-ranging experience in content strategy, brand storytelling, media, communications and editorial leadership. He joins the company from Australia, where he shaped content ecosystems for major brands across entertainment, lifestyle, sport and digital media.

Commenting on the appointment, Ian Fairservice, Managing Partner and Editor-in-Chief of Motivate Media Group, said, “With a strong track record of media leadership and crafting compelling narratives that engage audiences, enhance brand reputation and deliver business outcomes, Thomas is the right person to drive Motivate Media Group into its next phase of editorial excellence in the MENA region.”

Most recently, Woodgate led the creative content strategy at nbn, Australia’s national broadband network, overseeing storytelling that supported government relations, corporate affairs and brand priorities.

Prior to his role at nbn, he served as Manager – Media and Communications at Optus, directing media activity for Optus Sport through major global events including the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and UEFA Euro 2024, elevating the platform’s profile and audience engagement.

He also worked on the launch of Optus SubHub, a subscription aggregation platform, developing its content strategy in partnership with global entertainment brands such as Netflix, Amazon and Paramount+.

Earlier in his career, Woodgate served as Editor of TV WEEK, one of Australia’s most recognised entertainment brands. He oversaw the publication’s digital evolution and was instrumental in organising the TV WEEK Logie Awards.
