Dubai Lynx’s role of festival director is to change hands as Emma Farmer leaves the role after five years.
She is to be replaced by Thea Skelton, special events manager of Dubai-based company dmg events, following a hand-over period.
After taking a short sabbatical, Farmer will return to Dubai to serve as events consultant where she will continue to assist the Lynx team.
“It has been an incredible five years, and I look forward to Lynx continuing to grow and build on the solid foundations that have been set,” Farmer said.
Originally from London, Skelton has 13 years of experience in the events industry, including 7 years in various roles across the Middle East and has worked on numerous large scale events and award shows including the Host Cities Summit.
“Thea joins Dubai Lynx with a vast array of experience and a deep knowledge of the region – she will ensure Lynx will continue in the seamless way it has in the past. In welcoming Thea it is important to recognise the role that Emma Farmer has played in the last five years leading and shaping this great event” commented Terry Savage, Chairman, Lions Festivals.
Ian Fairservice, vice chairman, Dubai Lynx and managing partner of the Motivate Group added: “Having recently enjoyed our highly successful 10th edition, Dubai Lynx is undoubtedly the best established event of its kind in the MENA region. We are sorry to be losing Emma at such an exciting time but very much look forward to welcoming Thea Skelton and working closely with her to grow the event in coming years.”
Following the changes, senior events executive Hayley Nolan has been promoted to events manager.
Dubai Lynx 2017 will return to the Madinat Jumeirah from the 5-8 March 2017.
