1001 partners with Rotana to provide entertainment services

1001, Iraq’s legal streaming platform has announced a partnership with Rotana, an Arabic entertainment provider across the region. 

This strategic collaboration marks a key moment for 1001 as it reaffirms its dedication to delivering streaming services to the Iraqi audience.

Since its successful launch last year, it has emerged as the leader in the Iraqi market, having a user base of over 2 million.

The rollout of its subscription model, debuting this year, will align seamlessly with the incorporation of Rotana’s vast collection of high-quality content, ensuring subscribers a seamless streaming journey.

Rotana will enrich 1001 with a range of both free-to-air and encrypted channels, providing users a diverse and captivating entertainment. The inclusion of its channels offers an extensive range  of Arabic content, spanning movies, dramas, programmes, and exclusive music, ensuring an immersive experience for viewers.

This partnership offering a mix of hyper-localised and international entertainment choices, catering to diverse tastes. Rotana expects to capitalise on and further cement Iraqis’ enjoyment of and ability to access Rotana’s content. 

This initiative also presents the first steps towards the reduction of piracy and Iraq-focused pirated platforms, that have long afflicted legal content holders and regional streaming platforms’ ability to monetize inside Iraq.
