UAE agencies bag two Grands Prix and more at the Loeries

 

The 45th edition of the Lories, Africa and Middle East region’s creative award, has announced the winners of the Loeries Award 2023.

Agencies from the Middle East that picked up metals at the awards include FP7 McCann, Havas Middle East, Horizon FCB, Impact BBDO, Leo Burnett Beirut, MC Saatchi, MullenLowe MENA, Publicis Groupe, Publicis Middle East and Saatchi and Saatchi ME.

Middle East picked a total of 48 awards at the awards ceremony.

The biggest prize winners of the awards were FP7 McCann and Impact BBDO who bagged Grands Prix.

FP7 McCann won under the digital category for its Heinzjack campaign, while Impact BBDO took it home under the print communication for Newspapers Inside The Newspaper.

Tarek Miknas, CEO of FP7McCann MENAT, said, “Being rewarded and recognized for creativity at the Loeries is the result of strong and quality relationships nurtured by both agency and client. It gives me great pleasure to see ideas that have produced significant results be equally valued for their originality and creativity.”

Four campaigns picked up gold at the awards. FP7 McCann took two for Frequencies of Peace and Ketch-Up & Down. Publicis Groupe won its gold for McDonald’s Drive Thru School and Unseen Tears.

FP7McCann has secured a range of accolades, including 2 Gold Awards, 2 Silver Awards, 3 Bronze Awards, and the Grand Prix.

Federico Fanti, Chief Creative Officer of FP7McCann, said “This victory is a validation of the outstanding creativity of our agency and of our region. Other metals won by the agencies were as follows:

Impact BBDO won the highest amount of metals with 8 Silver and 8 Bronze, along with its Grand Prix award.

Publicis Groupe took home a total of 12 metals including 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 7 Bronze.

FP7 McCann bagged 2 Silver and 3 Bronze awards apart from its Grand Prix.

Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi ME won 3 Silver and 2 Bronze, while Publicis Middle East won 2 Silver.

Meanwhile agencies Havas Middle East, Horizon FCB, Leo Burnett Beirut, MC Saatchi Abu Dhabi and MullenLowe MENA won 1 Bronze each.

On a network level, Publicis Groupe took home the most amount of awards with a total of 20 awards between its agencies.

At the awards, Khaled AlShehhi, Executive Director of Marketing and Communication from the UAE Government Media Office was named recipient of the Loeries Marketing Leadership and Innovation Award 2023.

Al Shehhi is the first recipient from the Middle East to receive this award.

The awards were announced as part of a two-day ceremony held on 5 and 6 October 2023, at the Cape Town City Hall.
