Markettiers MENA hires Arabic senior account manager

International broadcast specialist consultancy markettiers MENA has announced the appointment of Maya Samaan to the role of Senior Account Manager. Having been freelancing for markettiers since June 2020, Maya has been officially appointed as part of the business, bringing with her 10 years’ experience working in communications in the United Arab Emirates.

Maya is fluent in both Arabic and English and will be tasked with leading and servicing the agency’s growing Arabic-client portfolio when it comes to delivering targeted campaigns that focus on engaging with core and new audiences via the power of broadcast.

Prior to joining markettiers, Maya worked for agencies including Havas as an Arabic media relations manager, and represented brands including Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Du and P&G managing campaigns both in the GCC and in Europe as part of her role.

Maya’s appointment builds on the investment the company has made into the Arabic part of the business with the release of the first ever podcast report into the podcast landscape in Saudi Arabia being launched earlier this month. It also follows a number of new account wins including Tourism Ireland and podcast network Finyal Media to its portfolio.

Commenting on her appointment, Maya Samaan, said: “It’s a great pleasure to be part of such an energetic environment and a creative team. markettiers is very well known for being an innovative agency in the broadcast PR and brand storytelling field, and I’m very excited to share my PR knowledge and media relations to support our agency and direct clients on new campaigns and projects that continue to be brave, bold and innovative.

“This year alone has highlighted the opportunity for brands to think differently, and I’m looking forward to the future ahead.”

Managing Director of markettiers MENA, Cheryl King, added: “Maya hit the ground running from day one. Her energy, enthusiasm and dedication to learning something new has been great. Maya has been instrumental in driving our Arabic focused campaigns forward, securing some stellar broadcast coverage and introducing clients to new ways of engaging with very targeted audiences both in the UAE and across global markets via broadcast storytelling. We’re excited to support her as part of her journey.”

markettiers is now in its sixth year of operation in the region, with a heritage of 30 years globally.  2020 has marked a year of firsts for the business, which has seen the company deliver end-to-end podcast campaigns for governmental and blue chip brands as part of its role as podcast strategists, as well as virtual live streaming campaigns both in Saudi Arabia and for the UAE for organisations including the WHO to stem the spread of the pandemic in Africa.

Maya’s hobbies include playing the piano, traveling and reading, and she holds a BA in Mass Communication from the American University of Sharjah.
