Dentsu has promoted André Andrade to chief executive of Dentsu EMEA.
Andrade takes over the role from Giulio Malegori, who was recently appointed group chief operating officer of Dentsu Group. Malegori oversees all Dentsu’s regional CEOs.
In his new role, Andrade will drive Dentsu’s growth strategy and business execution in the EMEA region.
He will also oversee Dentsu’s client and solutions hub for EMEA, focusing on growing the business in a client-centric way.
Andrade has been with Dentsu for nearly 20 years, working as CEO of Dentsu Portugal and CEO of Dentsu Spain and Portugal. Since 2013, he has been CEO Iberia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
According to his LinkedIn details, Andrade was managing director of Dentsu’s Carat in Portugal between 2004 and 2011. Prior to joining Dentsu, he was managing director of Cintra Breweries in Portugal.
Hiroshi Igarashi, president and CEO of Dentsu Group, said: “André has shown passion and commitment to bringing together the best of dentsu and spearheaded innovation to deliver integrated solutions at scale.
“I am looking forward to working in close collaboration as we continue to focus on putting our clients at the center, and delivering a seamless, integrated experience, driving growth and competitive advantage.”
Dentsu said it will announce Andrade’s successor as CEO of Iberia and Sub-Saharan Africa in the near future.
Andrade said: “We are committed to embracing client-centricity at the core of everything we do and the decisions we make. I am ready to take on this next opportunity with dentsu and look forward to working together with our 16,000 people across EMEA in delivering innovation and people-centred transformation for clients.”
