The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) welcomed a media group from India, comprising 52 individuals including journalists, chief editors of newspapers, influencers from the film sector, and magazine editors.
According to a statement from the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the visit was part of JTB’s strategic initiative to present Jordan’s tourist attractions and archaeological marvels to a global audience.
The JTB stressed the significance of drawing important personalities from the global film industry to visit Jordan’s historical, cultural, and natural locations for the purpose of international film production.
Indian actors, such as Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, along with director Ali Abbas Zafar, were among the VIP guests.
The itinerary for the media group included tours of famous sites such as Wadi Rum, Aqaba, and Amman, coinciding with the production of the international Indian movie “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”.
During the press conference, Olivewood Film Studios Chairman, Raja Gargour, expressed the historical film-making opportunities in Jordan, mentioning the “pivotal role” of Olivewood Studios in defining and facilitating such opportunities.
The Royal Film Commission (RFC), helped with offering logistical support to international movie productions in Jordan, had a smooth process by providing detailed information about filming regulations, securing necessary permissions, pinpointing shooting locations, and aiding with customs procedures for filming equipment.
Abdelrazzaq Arabiyat, the Director General of the JTB, emphasised that welcoming the Indian media group highlights the mutual benefits for Jordan’s tourism and film sectors.
He pointed out the investment prospects in Jordan, noting its status as a beacon of stability and safety in the area, celebrated for its diverse climate, strategic location, and genuine hospitality.
Mohannad Bakri, the Director General of the RFC, mentioned the vital link between tourism and filmmaking.
“Shooting films in Jordan not only displays its stunning scenery and unique culture but also effectively markets Jordan as a premier travel destination,” he stated.
