Abu Dhabi International Airport to adopt a new name

Abu Dhabi International Airport will adopt its new name early next year

The president of UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,  has issued directives to rename Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The airport will adopt a new name to be called Zayed International Airport.

The new name pays an ode to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the United Arab Emirates.

The new official name will take effect from next year on 9 February, 2024.

Abu Dhabi International Airport’s new name will be adopted at the same time as the official opening ceremony of the airport’s new terminal, Terminal
