X (Twitter) hiring brand strategist for Middle East

X (formerly known as Twitter) is looking for a brand strategist for the Middle East.

“We are looking for an experienced brand strategist to join Next, the award-winning brand strategy and creative team at X (and work closely with me),” wrote Stephanie Terroir, Lead, Brand strategy & creative // MENA (Next) in a LinkedIn post.

The role is based in its office in Dubai and will require frequent travel in the region.

“We are a diverse, innovative and fast-paced team always seeking new ways to help brands harness the power of X and tell their story.

“We seek an exceptional thinker with deep domain knowledge to further support advertising creativity on X.”

Tesla layoffs

Tesla founder Elon Musk, who owns X, hit the headlines this week for laying off his entire marketing team at the electric car company, according to media reports.

The team consisted of 40 employees led by Alexander Ingram, senior manager of global growth content.

In 2019, Twitter launched Next, which includes campaign and content strategy services, brand voice consultations, and a lab of technologists, programme managers and designers.

The team also included specialists in engineering and data science.

“As the industry has shifted, so have the needs of marketers who want to break through the clutter and drive conversations about their campaigns, products and messages,” it said at the time.

“That’s why today, we are evolving Twitter’s brand strategy team and re-orienting our offerings around a single mission: to create human-centric ideas worth talking about.”
