UAE President announces mourning period for Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed

The Presidential Court declared mourning period for three days starting from Thursday

 

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is mourning the death of his brother, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

UAE media will observe mourning period for three days by being respectful. Radio stations normally play recitations from the Quran and classical music while most live entertainments will be ceased.

The Presidential Court has declared official mourning period with flags across the country to be lowered as a mark of respect for the leader.

Emirates News Agency (WAM) has stated “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful… With hearts faithful to God’s decree and destiny, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourns his late brother, H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who passed away today.”
