LIA names Impact BBDO Regional Agency of The Year

Impact BBDO, Dubai has been awarded the Regional Agency of the Year Award for Middle East and Africa at the London International Awards (LIA).

Last night, LIA announced the winners of its Of The Year awards, which are calculated based on a point system allocated to the winning work across all competitions.

LIA recently announced the statue winners of its awards, earlier last month.

The total statue wins at the awards, as well as, the finalists are used to determine the ‘Of The Year’ Winners.

Impact BBDO was the only agency from the Middle East to receive an Of the Year Awards at LIA. It also won the award for a second year in a row. The agency took home a total of five Golds and one Bronze.

The agency’s most awarded campaign was Schoolgirl Newscasters for EBM which received three golds. It was also shortlisted as a finalist.

While its other campaign, Child Wedding Cards for UN Women picked up two of its Golds.

The agency also won a Bronze for its Cannes-winning campaign, The Newspapers Inside The Newspaper Edition.

“The work is not only exceptional, it also acted as a catalyst for positive changes in communities. This is truly a great testament to the power of creativity.”

Other winners

The other winner under the Of The Year Awards for Middle East and Africa banner was the cape town-based production house Scholars & Gentleman.

The major global Of The Year award winners were WPP, Ogilvy and Serviceplan.

WPP was named Holding Company Of The Year. Its agencies collected a total of 219 Statues, including six Grand LIAs. It also attained 46 Finalists representing 27 different countries.

Ogilvy was awarded Global Network Of The Year for the third consecutive year.

While on the independent side, Serviceplan was named Global Independent Network Of the Year. Its agencies were honored with a Grand LIA, two Gold, five Silver and ten Bronze Statues.
