Mark Hamilton, Starcom MediaVest Group MENA’s client managing director, has joined Facebook.
He takes on the role of head of marketing communications for the Central Eastern Europe Middle East Africa (CEEMEA) region and will be responsible for leading Facebook’s B2B marketing efforts by strategising the market position for business brands on Facebook. He will also be a senior partner to the sales leads in each market.
“Over the years, Facebook has been evolving toward innovative and effective marketing techniques to reach out and connect people around the globe,” said Jonathan Labin, head of Facebook for Middle East, Africa and Pakistan. “I’m delighted to have Mark on board of our regional team, in order to utilise his global experience to develop thought leadership strategies, marketing models, and award winning capabilities designed to enhance the industry’s understanding of social and online marketing.”
Hamilton, who had been at SMG since mid-2008, added: “My new role at Facebook will give me the opportunity to drive the creation of marketing communications for all Facebook marketing products across our agency and brand advertiser customer base in CEEMEA.”
