Film AlUla sets foot into the music space

Film AlUla, the Royal Commission for AlUla’s film agency, is expanding its offerings with a new recording studio.

The new studio marks Film AlUla’s entrance into the music space and is a step further in its goal to become a full-service creative hub.

Under construction, the recording studio is an addition to the agency’s existing studio complex.

Set to open in June 2024, the recording studio will include a studio space, a control room and two Iso booths, as well as catering facilities and a rack room. It will also include audio and recording equipment.

The studio is designed for the use of individual artists, choirs, rehearsals for film work, music videos and  orchestral work.

Charlene Deleon-Jones, Executive Director of Film AlUla, said: “Following the successful launch of our filmstudios last year, we are continuing to strategically expand the complex and become a one-stop destination for creatives, with the recording studio being a natural next step in this vision.

“We are delighted to welcome artists from June this year, who we have no doubt will be inspired by the magnificent surroundings and heritage that AlUla has to offer while making the most of our cutting-edge facilities to create magic.”

The first phase of Film AlUla’s studio complex saw the launch of two soundstages, a production building with hair and makeup rooms inside, wardrobe facilities, office spaces, board rooms and dressing rooms.

The complex also includes workshops for each stage, RV parking areas for each stage, an administration building, a sound recording studio, kitchen and events space as well as a large backlot for additional temporary infrastructure and set builds.
