Campaign’s Media Faces to Watch 2021 —Shahira Ashour, Media Executive, PHD Egypt
Age: 24
Nominated by Rana Shams, Associate Media Director, PHD Egypt
Shahira is one of the shining stars at PHD, I’ve been working with her for almost a year and she proved dedication, ownership, and persistence at work. When she first joined, her lack of digital knowledge and experience was her main concern, especially since she is handling one of the most performance-driven clients, Electrolux. But her ambition and eagerness to learn allowed her to successfully provide high-quality services in terms of integrated planning and strategic thinking. Additionally, she is the best at building strong relationships with her clients.
Bio
I’m a self-motivated woman with a curious mind who is dedicated to achieving my personal goals of having a positive impact anywhere I go and always improving my skill set. I began my career in media in 2019, working on various big accounts including L’Oréal, McDonald’s, Reckitt Benckiser, & Exxon Mobil. My current portfolio covers SCJ, Electrolux, & KFC.
Guiding principles
It’s very important to me to always exceed the client’s expectations as a team. Being a team player requires having great leadership skills while treating the team with courtesy and respect for the team to always pursue excellence.
How has Covid changed your job?
The dynamic changes in our job due to Covid made me realize the importance of digital media in our lives given that all spending on other mediums were affected. This made me more aware of all the products and portals in the Egyptian market to optimize my plans to enhance my brand’s communications during Covid.
Side hustle
I currently own an online store selling handmade home accessories named “Krafts” which I successfully launched at the age of 19. Krafts brings both home décor and philanthropy together by providing modern home accessories while giving back to our community by having 30% of the proceeds go to charity.
