Ever since I’ve known her, Farishte has proven that she’s not one to rest on her past laurels. Even after her impressive achievements in India, it was clear that she came to Dubai hungry to prove herself even more. In her first year, she’s made it clear that she’s a hardworking, focused, proactive copywriter who is eager to collaborate and take ownership of projects. The fact that she won the Young Lions Bronze less than a year into her journey in Dubai is proof that this is only the beginning for her. I’m excited to see the things she will go on to do.

Career highlights

Since pivoting to advertising in 2019, I’ve been named the #1 Copywriter in the 2022 Cannes Lions Global Rankings and have gone on to represent India as part of the 2023 Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia awarding jury. I was also named One Show’s Next Creative Leader in 2024 and have since chosen to expand my horizons from India to Dubai.  As a Senior Copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi MEA, I’ve had the privilege of placing Bronze in Young Lions UAE in my first year in the region. At my core though, I’m just a creative who loves advertising and cats, nerding out on both topics every chance I get.

Guiding principles

Set a benchmark for yourself, no matter the brief. Try to push the envelope, even, and especially on the ‘boring’ briefs. Collaborate, collaborate, collaborate. Turn feedback into a chance to learn. You’re only as good as your last campaign, so make sure it’s always a good one.

Side hustle

My side hustle is writing for myself. I enjoy turning my experiences into long-form essays and poems that also double up as an opportunity to perfect my craft.
