Campaign’s Creative Faces to Watch 2024 – Brenton Burns, Senior English Copywriter, BPG
Age: 30
Nominated by Darius LaBelle, President:
Brenton is not only an excellent copywriter, versatile for his years, but also a key lynchpin in the culture of our agency.
This is evidenced by his ability to build relationships with our most senior clients and be the go-to-person for the voice of their brands. I have no doubt that Brenton will be running a department soon. He displays an understanding of the “business of advertising” that is rare to find.
Career highlights
Brenton began his advertising journey in Johannesburg, South Africa, working with diverse brands including tech giants and NGOs. He then moved to the UAE, supercharging his career as a copywriter. With experience in global, regional, and local brands like Trojena, Mercedes Benz, Nestlé, Samsung, and Etisalat (E&), he gained insights into advertising, marketing, and business dynamics. Transitioning through agencies like BBDO and People Creative, he’s now part of BPG Group as a Senior English Copywriter, aiming to expand his understanding of the MENA region and explore new markets.
Guiding principles
Challenge yourself every day, fail, and learn something new. Something that I live by is a quote by Nicholas M. Butler, “Optimism is essential to achievement, and it is also the foundation of courage and true progress.”
Side hustle
When not tapping away at his laptop, Brenton explores other creative avenues like art and personal foodie reviews.
