Banali Malhotra leaves RAKBANK

Banali Malhotra announced that she has left RAKBANK after 16 years. Malhotra was the chief marketing officer of RAKBANK and was also one of Campaign Middle East’s Marketing Game Changer 2020. 

In her Linkedin post announcing her departure, she said, ”New year – new phase! It’s been an amazing 16 year ride being part of the transformational journey for RAKBANK- helping grow the customer base 5X and establishing a market leading brand which punches way above its weight now valued at greater than 2.5Bn.”

Malhotra joined RAKBANK in 2006 with more than nine years of experience in banking and partnerships in American Express. She served as the head of marketing communications, followed by the role of director of marketing and corporate communications. She stepped into the role of chief marketing officer to evolve the RAK Bank brand image. 

A key figure in the marketing industry, Malhotra has led the brand transformation of RAKBANK in the industry through several campaigns including the RAKfoodie Campaign and the rebranding of RAKBANK Elite and RAKBANK Business. 

In her post she also said, “A big shout out to my “simply better” team members both past and present – besides delivering many disrupting campaigns and winning awards, we developed strong personal bonds which made it a joy to work with you all.

I will always be grateful and continue to be a cheerleader for RAKBANK and wish my colleagues and friends the very best in continuing to build the best bank in GCC. Looking forward to the next adventure ?? .”

Malhotra’s next role is yet to be determined.
