RTA allows advertising on school buses

Adverts will be "subject to standards in a manner consistent with the rights and protection of school children”.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is allowing “advertisements and promotional campaigns” on school buses.

Adel Shakri, Director of the Planning and Business Development Department at the Public Transport Corporation at the Roads and Transport Authority, said the move provides additional sources of income for operators in the school transport sector.

This will be done by “allowing them to occupy advertising and promotional spaces on school buses from inside and outside”.

However, adverts will be subject to “standards and requirements for promoting various products and offers in a manner consistent with the rights and protection of school children”.
