Campaign’s PR to Watch 2023 – Tim Thorowgood, Marketing Manager,  Dune | 23

Age: 27

Nominated by Lloyd McMillan, Managing Partner:
Tim has quickly become an imperative member of our full-service marketing offering, with knowledge across all our verticals – content, social media, PR, digital media and experiential. Having joined us in E10, Tim has propelled quickly through the ranks whereby he now leads several clients that work with us across all the aforementioned channels. Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, World Tennis Championship and Tough Mudder and are just a few of the events that he has had a vital role in strategizing and executing. He continues to learn and grow in the agency and is one to watch for the (near) future!

Career highlights

Nearly seven years of agency life has seen me manage and deliver communication and marketing campaigns for high-profile organisations across various sectors in three regions (UK, UAE, Australia). With varied experience, I have been fortunate enough to work on some incredible events including the Commonwealth Games, The Open Championship, the Rugby League World Cup, and COP26.

However, working on community & purpose-led campaigns with the National Lottery and WaterAid was a particular highlight given their positive impact on people’s lives. In addition, delivering on Visa’s landmark UEFA Women’s Football Partnership was a rewarding experience given its significant impact on women’s football across Europe.

Guiding principles

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t – you’re right” – a reminder we must take responsibility in all aspects of our life. Our attitudes, beliefs, and how we perceive, can have a significant impact on our ability to achieve our professional and personal goals.

Side hustle

Successfully co-founding the Rugbytots Melbourne franchise in 2018 for children aged 2-7 – a big challenge in an AFL-mad state. I also recently completed a Masters conversion in Psychology with a view to continue volunteer work in the mental health space.
