Campaign’s PR Faces to Watch 2026 – Maya Abbassi, Senior PR Executive, Maison Pyramide

Age: 25

Country: Egypt

Nominated by Hend ElKhouly, Senior PR Manager:

I’ve worked very closely with Maya for almost two years now and I’ve genuinely seen her grow into her seniority with so much intention and ambition. She doesn’t just do the job, she pushes herself to elevate it. Her ability to build real relationships with media is one of her strongest assets and it comes from consistency, credibility, and emotional intelligence. She understands how to shape a story in a way that makes it worth reading, not just sending. Maya takes ownership, thinks strategically, and shows up every single time. She’s a true team player and someone I trust fully on key accounts.

Career highlights

I am a Senior PR Executive at Maison Pyramide, specialised in strategic communications and cultural storytelling for some of the region’s most influential brands. I began my career as an intern within Snapchat’s International Communications team in London, shaping multi-market narratives, before moving agency-side to deliver award-winning campaigns for Snapchat, Pantene, Pernod Ricard and contributing to Pepsi’s global rebrand – a journey that earned me recognition as a UK finalist for PR at the Cannes Young Lions Competition. Since joining Maison Pyramide in 2024, I’ve focused on press and talent strategy, media relations and high-profile launches for clients including Cairo Design Week, Gouna Film Festival, Riyadh Fashion Week, Elie Saab 1001 Seasons, Okhtein, Nobu Egypt, YSL Beauty, and SODIC  Real Estate among others – building impactful campaigns that drive relevance, visibility and industry recognition.

Guiding principles

I believe in telling stories with purpose, backed by strategy and long-term thinking. I focus on building real relationships with media and talent, and making every campaign or initiative feel personal, precise, and relevant – connecting with people in a way that actually matters and leaves a lasting impact.

Side hustle

My current “side hustle” is planning my own wedding: designing moodboards, creating guestlists, managing multiple suppliers, and coordinating timelines. In many ways, it’s PR in disguise- strategy, storytelling, stakeholder management and event conceptualisation – just for one particularly demanding client: me.
