Jamal Almawed, Founder & Managing Director, Gambit Communications: Ihab has three standout qualities that are hard to replicate, which make him so important to our team. He has character, a quality that is becoming rarer and rarer in the new generation of PR professionals. He’s self-built, having overcome many challenges to get to where he is today, and that has given him an amazing resolve in his approach to work. And he brings charm to his client servicing, a much-needed trait in our high-pressure industry where that level of personability can be the difference between a client trusting you or not.
In my four years in the PR industry, my work has been focused on the consumer tech, corporate and healthcare industries, with a 360 regional approach to media relations. The pandemic came along and fundamentally changed the way we service clients, at a time where I was still learning the ropes myself, but I’m proud that I adapted and found new ways to achieve client KPIs.
Over the past 12 months at Gambit Communications, I’m proud to have been part of some major campaigns, but none bigger than the launch of Amazon’s Alexa in Arabic, where I played an integral part in a major regional launch on-ground in Riyadh.
Break with convention if you want to create an impact. You need to be brave enough to do things differently if you want to achieve outcomes that others couldn’t.
The gym is my second home. I’m a strong believer that a healthy mind starts with a healthy, active lifestyle that allows you to get rid of negative energy and stimulate your creativity.
