Campaign’s PR Faces to Watch 2021 — Mohammad Al Sayed, Senior Account Executive, Gambit Communications

Campaign’s PR Faces to Watch 2021 — Mohammad Al Sayed, Senior Account Executive, Gambit Communications

Age: 28

Nominated by Jamal Al Mawed, Founder & General Manager, Gambit Communications

I always call Mohammad the ‘Joker’ card in the Gambit pack because he really is a Jack-of-all-Trades. His life experience so far has given him fantastic people skills, analytical thinking, and a strong work ethic – a killer combination in our industry at such a relatively young age. He is also quite literally a joker because he always makes us laugh and brings a great positive attitude to the team dynamic when we most need it with his candour and humour. He’s definitely one to watch and has the potential to become an industry leader.

Bio

I am an Automotive & Lifestyle comms specialist and have been lucky enough to work on fantastic clients including Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Dodge, Meraas and The Ritz-Carlton, with which I was part of the award-winning regional campaign for The Ritz-Carlton Grand Tour. I graduated with an MBA from the University of Dubai, and an Engineering degree from the University of Sharjah, and built my skillsets early in my career working in a variety of roles including engineering contractor, events executive, brand and in-mall activations, Ipsos researcher handling data entry and collection, and an Expo 2020 and Paralympics volunteer.

Guiding principles

“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” This is a quote I always keep in front of me to remind me that passion is the only true motivator.

How has Covid changed your job?

I had to be more creative to keep brands visible in front of a public that had bigger things on its mind. Working from home and doing meetings via zoom is different, but it never affected productivity and we keep going for our clients.

Side hustle

My dream was to become a football player, and although that didn’t happen, my side hustle is still always football, the place where I can let go of all my troubles.  It doesn’t make me money, but it gives me a value that money can’t buy.
