Campaign’s PR Faces to Watch 2020 – Dana Oraibi, Senior account executive, Impact Porter Novelli

Age: 24

Claire Jane Lawson, associate director, Impact Porter Novelli, Impact BBDO: Since we started working with OSN in November, Dana has tackled every challenge with passion and enthusiasm. Her recent success includes navigating how to promote a film when the Red Sea Film Festival, where it was due to debut, got cancelled. Working with the film’s talent, she managed to secure numerous written interviews with the director in high-profile publications. Dana is always keeping abreast of industry and media updates to share best practice with the entire agency to help make sure we constantly keep our finger on the (ever-changing) pulse. She has a bright future in comms ahead of her.

Career highlights

I’ve been in the communications industry for almost two years. I started my career as an account executive, and in the span of one year managed to join BBDO’s Impact Porter Novelli as a senior account executive. I’ve learned to utilise my youth, drive and enthusiasm, and have been mentored to become a professional communications expert with skills relevant to today’s integrated and evolving media landscape by tapping into several consumer accounts, from aviation, F&B and sports to luxury and fashion. I have looked after diverse accounts ,which include UFC, Kate Spade, P&G, Dubai Watch Week and OSN.

Guiding principles

A golden rule is to always trust that common sense wins over any best practices or processes, and never to shy away from asking ‘why?’ and ‘why not?’  – something that my sister has taught me.

Dream job

As much as I love to learn new things, I also love to teach them, so it would have to be something where I still get to communicate things to people. It’s all about cultural diplomacy and connecting people for, hopefully, a positive change.

Side hustle

I’ve taught myself to do everything with passion. I love adventures and learning/experiencing new things; in this case, it would have to be sports. I’ve found myself in playing soccer, in fighting, in dancing. Fitness fuels my life and makes me a much happier, brighter, positive and energetic person.
