Makram Abou Fakher, Business Unit Director, Havas Middle East – Havas Media: Yara was able to fully fill the position she was hired for, in no time. She showed dedication and support from day one and enhanced deliveries across the different accounts that she handles, on which the numbers have been constantly increasing in double digits. She is very well equipped with industry knowledge and has the commitment and ambition to organically grow the business vertical she works on, as well as to grow within the department. Yara doesn’t refrain from passing on her experience -mainly on digital platforms- to her teammates and clients who respect her a great deal.

Career highlights

I started my career in performance media with Merkle MENA, specializing in paid social advertising, where I was shortlisted for the ‘new-joiner of the year’ award across Merkle EMEA. I later joined Havas Middle East to expand my responsibilities on account servicing and leading clients through integrated planning, where I’m still enriching my cross-channel management experience. I’m fortunate to have worked across various industries including automotive, tech startups, charitable and cultural organizations, retail and e-commerce, which allows me to drive data-driven solutions suited for individual business KPIs.

This has cemented my commitment to delivering growth targets across different media channels and identifying potential scopes to improve results. I’ve also had the pleasure of taking part in publishing two success stories with Meta for my clients.

Guiding principles

Knowledge is power. Having the passion to keep learning and sharing lessons with others creates a positive and forward-thinking environment.

Side hustle

I’ve always had an interest in charity. I took part by being the head of the Humanitarian club back at school, then by participating in refugee help during my university time in the UK. With things opening again post-lockdown, I plan to resume being active with local charities in the UAE.
