Mazher Abidi, strategy director, Initiative: Ryan is one of the most technically gifted digital specialists we’ve had at the agency, and arguably in the region. His analytical and scientific approach is something clients have bought into in a huge way, and it’s no surprise to see the impact he’s had on our business in such a short time. His skills and experience will be a perfect fit for the future demands of clients, given the challenging and changing times that lie ahead, and we’re all hugely excited to see the what Ryan delivers over the next 12 months and beyond.

Career highlights

I started as the post room assistant at Mediacom UK at 16, where I fell into digital marketing with help from friends. Since then I’ve progressed through the ranks, launching my own data consultancy Insightify in 2016. Over the years that followed I built this up until it was bought out, leading me to where I am now, helping clients across MENA with their digital transformation efforts.

Guiding principles

Prioritise your time and efforts on things that make the biggest impact. I initially learnt this with ForwardPMX but have refined this idea with great role models over my career.

Dream job

My dream job would focus on bringing through the next generation of digital leaders. I feel very lucky to have got to where I am today and I would love to give people in a similar position the opportunity to do the same.


Side hustle

My main passion outside of work is sports, which led me to deeper into studying the world of probability and chance. This has allowed me to combine my two passions and led me to work on statistical models in real-world scenarios.
