Campaign’s Faces to Watch: Brand Edition 2022 – Anas AlHakim, brand manager, Action, Riot Games

Age: 29

Nominated by Rahim Barkoumi, senior account executive – Socialize Agency: Anas is the perfect client that any agency would love to have, creative, strategic, and a pleasure to work with every single day.

Emerging as a stand-out player in the gaming industry is no easy feat, least of all in a powerhouse like Riot Games. That is precisely why I have nominated Anas AlHakim as our MVP (Most Valuable Player). With a laser-like focus, Anas keeps his sights on adding tangible value to the gaming community.

While many focus on general marketing metrics, his efforts are spent empowering a new era of gamers in the Middle East, uplifting our close-to-home community by creating opportunities in which they can thrive. He has spent the past three years on an undeniable journey of learning, growing, and shooting for new high scores, raising the bar with every project he touches.

Bio

Anas started his advertising journey in JWT in 2011, working with major brands such as Nike, Nestlé, HSBC, Kraft and Nokia, honing his skills and climbing the ranks until he became a seasoned Art Director.

After successful stops in OgilvyOne Worldwide & Vice Media, Anas Joined Riot Games in 2019 as a content manager, a role in which he was able to channel his passion for gaming and link business goals with audience interests, resulting in campaigns that felt relatable and impactful.

At the start of 2022, Anas took on the role of a Brand Manager for Action Games, shifting his focus to Riot Games’ first-person tactical shooter, VALORANT, and bringing a hyper-local approach to players in the region across all publishing and marketing disciplines.

Guiding principles

“Brand passion is never the responsibility of one person only, it takes a team that shares that passion, and works together to drive the results the brand & community aim to see.”

Side hustle

No side hustle, as Anas is too consumed leading the charge on Valorant or playing the game himself.
