Lucy is a vital member of my 60-strong team across 15 countries. She is one of our most advanced digital marketers, combining engaging content with strong performance marketing, driving platform growth and digital commercial revenue.
Lucy is excellent at stakeholder management, and working across a global matrixed organization. Her diplomacy and strategic insights have helped many campaigns get through the business.
She is nimble and agile, able to pivot from product launches to PR campaigns, and from client management to creative ideation.
In short, I would fight to keep Lucy as part of my team. She is definitely one to watch.
Currently work at Discovery, the world’s largest real-life entertainment company (soon to be WarnerMedia).
With an eight-year background in brand marketing, my current role stretches into communications, digital products & performance marketing. Based in Dubai, I lead the EMEA marketing for Discovery’s lifestyle brands including TLC, Food Network and HGTV. My campaigns are seen on TV channels & social platforms across 75 countries.
Regionally, I have launched our OTT product discovery+ in partnership with Starzplay and Jawwy TV. I also manage the digital performance of Fatafeat, which has the biggest digital footprint of any Arabic food brand in the market.
I always aim to be Collaborative, Positive and Adaptable. These three personal values focus on me as I lead complicated matrixed projects across EMEA. They ensure that I can strategize and deliver the very best work that works for multiple stakeholders in the different regions and helps drive the growth of Discovery.
How has Covid-19 changed your job?
For me, Covid was much more than just switching to a Zoom life — a global restructure at the end of 2020 saw my role expand significantly. Overnight I took additional responsibility for all of Europe as well as the Middle East. More responsibility, more team members, more stakeholders to manage!
Three days a week I get up at 5 am to train with Dubai Paddle Crew — I’m proud to say we are currently the #1 mixed Dragon Boat team in the UAE! It helps that seeing the sunrise over the skyline is the perfect way to begin another big day at Discovery!
