Dana Al Azem, Group Account Director, Create Group: Maryam is an excellent communicator and knows how to manage social media to its best advantage.
She is smart, confident and extremely knowledgeable about social media management, content production, and the tools to use. She is also very quick on the uptake with regards to social media and community management and is always the first to identify new trends and opportunities. We have nominated Maryam as a face to watch because we are proud of her achievements in the past year at Create Group.
I joined Create as a Senior Social Media Executive in 2020, where I first had the chance to get exposed to the Emirati market. I was given the chance to discover new scopes of work, get exposed to different mindsets, and take part in the strategic planning for many accounts. The highlight of my experience is having the chance to be on the social media team that manages the Zayed Sustainability Prize, and getting to see HH Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in person at Expo, awarding the winners for their sustainable solutions to vulnerable communities across the world.
Listening is key and a necessary tool to succeed. Listen to the guidance you are offered, the issues people are facing, and the work your team is putting effort and time into. It helps you learn, get perspective and build great working relationships.
Working on my mental and physical health goes alongside excelling technically. I redirect any negative energy into working out and finding balance by performing yoga. It gives me peace and clarity which positively affects my work. I actively encourage others to care for themselves by being a positive influence.
