Campaign’s Digital Faces to Watch 2020 – Nelly Al-Fayed, Senior social media manager, Netizency

Age: 26

Michael Maksoudian, managing partner, Netizency: Nelly has been a superstar from day one. She constantly exceeds clients’ expectations and has been delivering quality work day-in-day-out. She has a great relationship with all her team members and is always ready to help on any assignment.

Career highlights

I started my marketing career as a junior account executive at Ogilvy & Mather, upon completion of my BSc degree, where I developed the online marketing strategy for the National Tourism Council in Qatar. After completing my MSc degree, I began working as a social media executive at Netizency and managed Qatar National Bank’s social campaigns and channels. Upon receiving three promotions in a little over two years and supporting the Netizency team in prospective client pitches, I am now overseeing various client social media accounts and ongoing digital campaigns and managing a team of younger social media executives.

Guiding principles

“Team work. Your team’s good work is your good work and your team’s mistakes are your mistakes.” – Michael Maksoudian, Netizency’s Managing Partner.

Dream job

My dream job would be leading a digital agency that revolutionises the way the marketing industry functions today by using the latest technology to remotely connect brands of all sizes to individual talent, including designers and executives, in the most efficient and seamless way possible.

Side hustle

I’m building a digital interface with the help of two friends. It started with a simple chat about combining our different expertise to provide a hub geared towards supporting local SMEs in the marketing industry. I’m also training with an adamant goal to qualify in the next international CrossFit games.
