Obaydah Al Namer, associate account director, Apco Abu Dhabi: If I could summarise in one word who Ahmed is as a colleague, a friend and more generically an employee, I’d chose the word “dedication”. For the past two and a bit years, Ahmed has continued to show various forms of dedication to his craft. Being a graduate of a non-media major, he has gone above and beyond to showcase his creativity, understanding, commitment and perseverance to accomplish each and every milestone throughout his career. From late, late nights, to super early mornings (sometimes even before the sun rose), Ahmed has always been there, a reliable, dependable and committed employee. Taking challenging requests head-on, managing rather difficult clients, creating innovative and original campaigns, liaising between team members to deliver a stellar product, managing an on-ground team at large scale events… the list goes on.

I’d say some of his most prominent contributions includes his impressive work with ADNEC Group, a mega events destination in the UAE. Ahmed smoothly and professionally navigated both a difficult client and an immense workload, always delivering beyond expectation.

Another shining example is Abu Dhabi Chamber for Commerce & Industry, a client that is so impressed with Ahmed’s work ethic, creativity and dedication. Ahmed worked tirelessly to transform the account through creative content, imaginative design and production and an exemplary client relation.

Furthermore, Ahmed was a key player in the launch of IDEX UAE social media platforms, helping develop their digital strategy and enriching it with inventive approaches to kickstart their digital presence with a bang. The same was showcased by Ahmed for the launch of EDGE Group, a key player in the international defence industry. Ahmed majorly contributed to the success of the launch event, working on content creation, creative design, client management and on-site event coverage.

Last, but certainly not least, Ahmed leads on the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) social media presence, solely managing the platform from developing bilingual content, brand guidelines and design and production elements to client management, onsite event coverage and creative input to sustain platform activity.

Ahmed is a main asset, a team player, a leader by nature and a major contributor to the success and prosperity of Apco Worldwide. We are proud to have him as part of our team.

Career highlights

I graduated as a Petroleum Engineer from UAEU, which is the number one university in the country, but I found my true passion in working in digital media.

I started as a Senior Account Executive in Apco Worldwide’s digital team back in 2018, and I have been recognised and promoted to Account Manager presently.

Over the past two years, I worked with the biggest clients in the UAE with key campaigns, such as ADNEC, National Media Council, Abu Dhabi Chamber, Tadweer, EDGE, EAD, EDA and Tawazun.

My biggest highlight is leading on digital content and creative designs for the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA), where I created their social brand guidelines, digital content, strategy and plans, as well as designing creative visuals and videos.

To build a great relationship with clients to the point where they trust my work and what I’m capable of, a principle I learned from my family and manager.

Side hustle

My side hustle started while I was still in the university, which is creating brand guidelines, logos and visuals for start-up business and SMEs, as well as coming up with creative and effective marketing ideas for them.
